Magazine planning lesson 1

So we've come up with a name called, "ROCKA beats". This magazine consists of 'rock' as the main theme, but goes into more depth which includes 'Pop', 'RnB', 'Classical' (but more of a non classical feature), 'Indie/Acoustic' and 'Jazz', they're all sub-genre's and will be incorperated subtly.

We have four people in our group, so we have decided that each of us will do a theme each as our front cover. For example, I'm doing the classical theme, which generally means in a 'rock' term as 'non Beethoven style music', but more in a pop/rock style. For the photography I am planning to use my Cello and lay it on its side and have me sitting on it.  So it's not pictured in a famous classical way where I would be sitting with the Cello upright and in between my legs.

We tried several attempts at picking and choosing a name for the magazine, we came up with - "Fedora", "Rocapocolypse", "ROCKA series" but we finalized by choosing the final name which is "ROCKA beats".

We chose this name because it appeals the the audience which is targeted at older teenagers and young adults, aged 16-25s. We came up with an idea of having different covers for each genre each week, so for example week one would have the classical theme, week two will have the pop theme. So each front cover will have the "ROCKA beats" name but in different fonts styles, but then realized that this will not show them that this is OUR brand. So we came up with another idea of having the same coloured scheme, but realized this would be quite difficult. At the end we just decided that we would have a bright coloured scheme for all the magazines, with the same mast head with same font and same colours.
